Mies van der Rohe In the context of the exhibition on display at the Ireland Pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai:

The European Commission, the Ireland Pavilion in Expo Dubai 2020, and Fundació Mies van der Rohe, inaugurated the exhibition “Transformation Strategies: European Architecture as Caregiver”. The exhibition has been developed in the context of the participation of the European Union in EXPO2020 Dubai which is organizing a meaningful set of high quality events and activities to showcase its contribution to tackling global challenges in line with the themes of EXPO2020: Mobility, Opportunity and Sustainability.

The exhibition contributes to the European Green Deal that aims at transforming the European Union into the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 while decoupling economic growth from resource use and leaving no person and no place behind. To do so, its cultural component, the New European Bauhaus movement, is creating bridges between the world of science and technology and the world of art and culture in order to combine sustainability with aesthetics, affordability and inclusion.
