Yoko Okuyama
She was born in Tokyo and graduated in architecture from the Hokkaido University. She immediately began her career in Kenzo Tange’s studio where she collaborated on a number of important prejects, such as Tokyo Cathedral and Univesity of the Sacred Heart. She is the founder and currently the chairwoman of Sohseisha architecture and design firm.
She moved in Italy in 2000 and began her art works. The creation of her works from giappanese cellulose and water which as equally ancient and primeval as these materials. Her works have been descrived as “brushless painting” because use only the movement of water.
